Here's the run down:

Minoxidil starts working immediately, but it's for increasing the length of the growth stage in the hair cycle, which usually takes about 6 months to display noticeable results.

Apparently, the foam/drops versions have a 40% chance of working due to most people not having the specific hair fibers/types/whatever the fúck in order to see any improvement.

A VERY COMMON side effect is shedding for the first month or two that you’re on it. The reason is that your old, weak strands need to go in order to make room for the new ones that will be coming in (hopefully). Power through, and you should be okay.

The pill form is more effective, but the side effects are potentially much worse, even though the efficacy of it will improve greatly (that 40% thing is now no longer valid since oral Minoxidil goes into your liver.) Additionally, if you take oral Minoxidil, you'll grow hair EVERYWHERE. If you're looking to grow a beard, you're in luck:pachaha:.

Lastly, look into double-dipping with Finasteride. Fin actually blocks DHT, while Minoxidil just increases blood flow to your follicles. If you get on Fin, start off with .5mg so you can avoid side effects.

What are the side effects for oral Minoxidil? And if you have the dread shed does that mean the dropper is working for you?

Take this for what it's worth — a ton of anecdotal evidence supporting oral Min. I'm personally on the border between buying a bottle or just sticking to Fin.

If you see increased shedding, it's a sign that it's working, yes. Now, if you have shedding accompanied by itching and redness, that's a different story🤣

Same. I’ve been using minoxidil and peppermint oil. I don’t have a robust FBA hairline anymore, but my hairline is still intact/not receding.
Lucky my hairline is still solid. I started losing from the crown. If I wasn’t short gang I probably wouldn’t worry about it but my daughters were calling me out cause they could see it :sadcam:
