So what is the point of college players signing large amounts of memorabilia?

I was thinking about this earlier, and the NCAA is just stupid to think we believe players sign a bunch of stuff for free

*Guy walks up to college player after a banquet or something....*

Guy: Hey (player name), can I get your autograph on my football here?

Player: Sure, no prob, sir.

Guy: Thanks......aaaannnd can I get you to sign this helmet, this jersey, this t-shirt, these 2 more footballs, and 20 of these photos?

Player: Who are you? Why do you need so many things signed?

Guy: I'm (so & so), I own my own sports memorabilia and collection store.....I'd like your autograph on several items

Player: So you sell them?

Guy: Yes, well I collect, and sell as well.

Player:

So I'm giving you my autograph on a dozen items....for free, then ur gonna turn around and sell them for maybe $800-$900 a piece.....you'll make several thousands dollars off of me and I receive nothing, not even a penny?

Guy: Yep

Player: Okay.



Yeah, I'm really sure that's the case, NCAA We're supposed to believe that's basically how it goes?

Actually, I think we are SUPPOSED to believe it. It's been going on for years....you can walk into a sports shop and see signed footballs, jerseys, etc., from college players, and it's all allegedly under the guise of being done in "good faith", so to speak.

Only difference is here, Manziel probably signed for one too many people and some guy got stuck with a bunch of stuff he "paid" for and now can't sell. So he started telling....
