So when does Black-ish get cancelled?

I don't think the black community alone can keep this show on television. I, for one, think the whole show looks cornball with Morpheus spitting his one liners after every joke.


I like Anthony Anderson but Black-ish might be Wack-ish

The same ones that loved Trophy Wife and Enlisted, right? We know what happened to those

Enlisted was dope breh but it was doomed to fail from the beginning. And on the real, minus the horrible title Trophy Wife wasn't that bad either. The title and marketing made it seem like something it wasn't. So those are two shows I stand by, Enlisted more than Trophy Wife. There's a reason Yahoo was trying to get it back on air to be a part of their lineup. Shyt just didn't work out

They aren't expecting it to win the ratings battle so the expectations are different. You can actually help a show out by putting it on Mondays because the expectations are low

Happy Endings had great ratings until they moved it. When it was following Modern Family at 930, it was on fire. Then they moved it to Tuesdays for some stupid reason along with another show they couldn't get right, Don't trust the B in apartment 23, and it sunk

Well I think with Enlisted it was the friday timeslot that killed it. I mean off the break they were burning episodes off. And Trophy Wife just suffered from bad marketing. A clear example of someone not knowing what the product is just throwing stuff at the wall. Black-ish seems to be marketed the right way and it's got a good cast of names that people won't have to go "Who's that?"

:::crossing my fingers for this one:::: It has great potential. But the OP is right, it's going to have a strike a delicate balance between black insider comedy, social commentary, and appealing to a wider (read whiter) audience. That's tricky, but "Everyone Hates Chris" and "The Bernie Mac Show" did a great job of that, so it can be done.

Never followed the ratings, I do remember it going Tues...to Weds...to Friday

I see it getting at worst a season and if it catches on they will keep around like The Middle which fell off crazy after its first 2 seasons
