For the first time in memory, we have three candidates seeking the presidency who can plausibly call themselves New Yorkers. In the run-up to the state’s April 19 primary, all three have been working to highlight their New York-iness to voters here.

Hillary Clinton
Clinton grew up in Illinois, but bought a home in Chappaqua in 1999 before running for a U.S. Senate seat.

Bernie Sanders
Sanders grew up in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, but has lived in Vermont for decades.

Donald J. Trump
Trump grew up in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood of Queens, though he now lives in Manhattan.

Clinton's always using Black people. It was huge news when Bill bought that Harlem office.
