This is a new/old sound that Roc/Ray west/AG/Ka are employing and it absolutely works. It sounds like how I feel as an aging New Yorker. We're weathered, down trodden, Verbose, Smart, Respectful and aware of our surroundings and still young enough to square off. And Q-Tip bodied 'Thread Count' on some old Tip drums shyt. wowsers.
i support this wholeheartedly. I also like that the hip hop intelligentsia seems to support it....
i'd love to hear some vets like KRS or Wu over this wave.
