Its kinda dumb to be going through your ish after being stopped and the cop behind you watching you.
they observe your movements after getting pulled over. most people stay seated straight up waiting.
if you're moving around and bobbing down to the glove compartment or whatever, shyt is gonna look suspect.
and they will write that in the report if you get a charge or the stop goes the wrong way. happened to me and all i was doing was putting my things into the rear seat and he reported i was "acting suspicious moving around the vehicle while he ran my plate"
best is to wait until hes at the window to go looking for your paperwork.

1)turn off your engine and put the keys on the roof of your car
