No offense to the region, that the US have to play in but them and the Mexicans are heads and shoulders above everyone else. They have their own strong leagues, they have a larger talent pool to pick from and they have more of their better players playin in stronger leagues elsewhere.
While beatin the Germans was a good moral booster for the squad, it was only a friendly and Germany minus 1 player had a reserve team out.
and in the grand scheme of things it means fukk all.

coach can only do so much when youre outclassed heavily by a team like spain or germany (the non-friendly kind)
I think jurgen isnt a radical coach (and honestly he lacks coaching experience to be one) so he'll kinda stay with the flow and be a players' coach. our players seem to like him

They need to make it to a q/f 1st, if they do that next year then its progression, as it would be their best showing at a World Cup ever. But it all comes down to what the draw is like and then you can see where you can navigate from there.
What the US lack in terms of creativity, they more than make up for it with work ethic, being organised and more importantly team spirit. They could get to the semis but with this current squad nah, not enough top quality players in attackin positions, got good players but outside of 2-3 players nothing really outstanding. You guys are probably like England 10-15 years behind the top top nations in terms of developin talent, because they rely on athleticism 1st then skill/tekkers after when it should be the other way.
Jurgen The German is a good motivator, but hes not really the kind of coach who can lead you to the semis tactically tho, which tournament play is all about.

yep... and I think its a legit question whether he can evolve and how he will evolve tactically.
on that german team loew was the real tactical coach and jurgen was just a figurehead/motivator
and he wasnt a bayern-caliber coach, dude sucked for them.

Despite Jurgen's flaws as a coach, he did help reinvigorate Germanys NT and help move them into using younger players and a more excitin brand of football. If anything Jurgen would be a better off as a DoF/TD/GM whatever you want to call it then as a coach
