I wasn't really sure what sub-forum to put this but I wanted to post this video in relation to the title. Forgive the source because I know the forum has mixed feelings about Sa Neter and "hoteps" in general, but there was a point made about social media "snitching" that I never really thought about.
At about 5:45 he mentions an aspect of the investigation of Troy Ave in that the police sometimes put videos or information on social media to generate "talk" to build leads. In other words people who may be from the neighborhood or have an association to the suspect(s) may talk more loosely to other folks on social media to set the "record straight" when in reality law enforcement can use this info to identify people or build up a case with information they may not have known.
It stuck out in my head because even on this forum we sometimes have spirited discussions about things that may have gone on or may be going on about rappers in particular and I wonder if things like that are monitored to do the same thing I mentioned previously. This isn't really a "stop snitching" thread but I just wanted to get others opinion on what is off-limits or going to far when it comes to discussing things of this nature online.
