All this terminology is newer but the concepts are ancient. The words change in the queer world.

Bisexual used to mean hermaphrodite which became intersex. Queer itself was a slur and now it's a pretty acceptable umbrella term.

Whether you agree or respect these folks wishes for visibility in identity, it really is minimal effort to not call anyone out their name. In plenty of cases, calling people they is a lot easier than even having to focus on their gender or whatever identity
