Soda vs Pop

This debate is up there with Coke vs. Pepsi. I've seen nikkas scrap over what to call soft drinks.

When you go to the bodega, do u run out for a "soda" or for a "pop"?

Also, what area are you from to call it what you call it?

I used to think that, but going up to Buffalo, everyone called it Pop, and just people who said otherwise.

In the south we call everything coke. I guess because we're illiterate.

But because I lived in the north for a while I call it soda sometimes.
