But last week, an ex-fan mailed me a copy
Of The Mathers LP to tell me to study
It'll help me get back to myself and she'll love me (ooh-ooh)
I mailed the bytch back and said if I did that
I'd just be like everyone else in the fukking industry
Especially an effing Recovery clone of me
So finger-bang, chicken wang, MGK, Iggy 'Zae
Lil' Pump, Lil' Xan imitate Lil' Wayne
I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name
I'm fed up with being humble
And rumor is I'm hungry, I'm sure you heard bumblings
I heard you wanna rumble like an empty stomach
I heard your mumblin' but it's jumbled in mumbo-jumbo

Kathy Griffin stackin' ammunition
Slap the clip and cock it back on competition
This is how I shot a head (pew)
Gabby Gifford, my attack is viscous, jack the ripper, back in business
Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a fakkit, bytch
It's not just 'cause you lack attention
It's 'cause you worship D12's balls, you're sac-rilegious
If you're gonna critique me, you better at least be as good or better
Get Earl, the Hooded Sweater, whatever his name is
To help you put together some words, more than just two letters
The fans waited for this moment
Like the feature when I stole this show
Sorry if I took forever
:wow:

This joint made WAVES last year. Everyone saw that Em still had it after a string of duds and lukewarm similes and rhyme schemes. Running through the album again, some of these joints kinda meh but the three I posted still bang.
And the one with Joyner Lucas (Lucky You) is still holding up.
What y'all think

Can he do it again on the next release :lupe:?

I just listened to "The Ringer" last night. :ehh:

This album is like what would happen if Eminem dropped an underground version of Recovery. He had been steadily declining for years, but Revival did a lot of damage to his image and his reputation. People became a lot more comfortable with calling him a joke and making fun of him. He needed this album to get his edge back and prove that he was still serious about this hip hop shyt.

I'm just glad that after nine years, he finally dropped a straight rap album. No pop hooks (for the most part), no top 40 production, no saccharine love songs, none of that. Plus, it was a lot shorter than most of his albums so it was much easier to listen to. He finally realized that he can't sustain an album with 15-20 tracks anymore.

A year later, the tracks still hold up. The ones I don't really care about ("Normal," "Nice Guy") don't hurt the album as much as tracks like "Remind Me" and "Like Home" hurt Revival. "The Ringer" was the perfect way to set everything off. I like how the first three tracks are just hip hop. Very little hooks, modern beats, and Em's flow/delivery isn't as irritating as it usually is. I almost wish the beat for "Good Guy" was given to someone else because it could have been a nice little hit. I still think "Stepping Stone" is one of the best songs he's made in a long time. To me, "Fall" feels like the centerpiece of the album, like he's just tired of all the shyt people have been saying and he loses it. Like when he says:

"I can take all of you motherfukkers on at once
You wanted Shady, you got it"

You can hear the :scust: in his voice when he says that. The only thing I hope for is that he learns from this and the albums he drops in the 2020s are more hip hop and he does away with the pop shyt for good.

Fabby Eminem is better than all of your favourite black rappers in the past 10 years.
