Yeah...I'm guilty as charged...:aicmon:I'm one of THEM.

My fitted collection from 2004-2008 was like the shyt. Then one day, me and my homie were shopping in downtown Pittsburgh and found this store owned by this nice old Asian couple and they had the bomb as snap back collection....and all of them were 5 bucks each! At the time I was like "man...fukk snapbacks"...but then a rushing sense of nostalgia overcame me and I ended up buying three that day...including a dope white sox pinstripe snapbacks similar to what the lat Eric Wright wore back in the day. From then I was sold...no more having to brush through a selection of hats and find the right size or any of that.

Sold all my fitteds. Been buying nothing but snap backs since.

Then...last week I was waking down myrtle on the way to the jmz train stop and I saw the first fitted I bought and the most consistently premier fitted/cap, etc....The dark navy new York Yankees fitted!:steviej:

This is ran by a black dude who's there everday...so i was like, support black business :yeshrug:so I look through the hats and decide on that one. I've probably 5 of them over the years. So I tell him what size I wanted (7 1/4)...He grabs a 7/14 fitted. I try it on. It dawn near covered my whole head and I'm looking like Un Kasa in 2004 especially with my glasses on.

So I ask for a 7 1/8...again...same issue. Only instead of covering my head it's hovering on my head like Cam'ron in 2005. Alright...

I ask for a smaller size. He hands it to me. It's still on my head and not...really on my head. I'm starting to realize why I haven't bought a fitted in ages.

Then he hands me a 7. A 7. I haven't worn a 7 fitted since high school. Freshman year. And that was back in 1998 y'all.

And it fits. For a fitted.

The crowns on fitted are too dawn high. Like I could pull this thing over my eyes if I wanted to.

But then as I was wearing it...something magical happened!
I was magically transported to 2005...When I wore fitted everyday all day in college. And I was a big dreamer and I had big plans of making a success of myself in new York city. Suddenly, all that youthful enthusiasm that was washed away with reality, adulthood, and all of that came back to me! And I was inspired. And I realized...After all that hard work, the blood: sweat: tears...There I was. There I am.

Needless to say I put it away and grabbed the Brooklyn snap back I had bought for 10 bucks off of a street vendor back on.

But yeah...never forget who you are and where you came from!:ufdup:in this great future...you can't forget your past.

Cliff notes:
Dude used to wear fitted baseball caps. Later bought snapback baseball caps. Today, dude tries on a fitted baseball cap which brought back memories from his college days. He puts back his snapback cap on his head as a reality check. Posts final post before jumping off bridge.
