At the end of the day, you can't criticize the Wall signing. If you think you're overpaying your franchise player, he's not your franchise player. If Wall was getting $80 mil to be their 2nd or 3rd best player, that's a problem, but they're not paying him to be that, so in no way should this contract be an example of mismanagement.

The only reasons why Curry doesn't have a 5 year max is because of his 2 bad ankles and because unlike the Wizards, Steph grew into the role of being their franchise player (his best basketball of his career came AFTER signing the extension; we'd be laughing too if they offered Curry $80 mil off an injury riddled season). The Wizards planned their entire rebuilding around Wall before he ever played a game.

david lee at least is a PF and has made the all star team in both conferences. plus u know good PF's are more of a commodity in the NBA than a PG. skilled big dudes almost always get paid better than skilled little dudes.
