What do you think – did Chris Rock go too far in his opening monologue? Check out the video above!
Chris Rock’s return to Saturday Night Live over the weekend as guest host wasn’t met without some controversy. According to some, the comedian’s opening monologue joking about serious topics on the Boston Marathon Bombing and 9/11 went too far.

During his monologue, Rock started out saying how the Boston Marathon Bombing was a “frightening” and “sadistic” terrorist attack, joking at the irony that many of the participants who just finished running 26 miles were urged to run more when the bombs exploded.

“Your knees are hurting, their feet are killing ‘em, you’ve been training for a year and you finally get to the finish line and someone screams ‘run!'” he joked, adding that “the good people of Boston bounced back” after the attack.

He also joked about the newly opened Freedom Town in New York City that was built in place of the World Trade Center after the 9/11 terrorist attack.

“They should change the name of the Freedom Tower to the ‘Never Going In There Tower,’ because I’m never going in there,” he said. “There is no circumstance that would ever get me in that building. Are you kidding me? Does this building duck?”

Hes a comedian and he's CHRIS fukkING ROCK. Of course he's going to tell some dark jokes....

I will say that him knowing the business he probably knows that SNL wasn't the forum for such politically incorrect jokes and he probably planned it that way. Controversy sells and he's got a movie coming soon and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a new tour in the pipeline. He'll be in headlines off of this for at least the next few weeks
