i always hear people mention it but what exactly is it for and what are the benefits of using it?

i have zero knowledge on this so please explain this shyt to me

I have the "Top Headlines" RSS feed. So in my Outlook under RSS feeds, there's a subfolder called ESPN.com with basically a one line summary of each headline on ESPN.com and a link to go to the page with the full story. All of the major news/tech sites function in a similar way. I have a feed to top news stories on CNN.com too.

I'm sure there's more to it than that, but I use it for the simplicity of what's going on in the world without having to open up my browser.

i use my google account to organize my rss feeds

then i use greader app for android.

basically you open up the app and it shows you a list of headlines brought to you by your subs. if you click it, you can read the article.

it's convenient. most major sites have multiple feeds. like espn has one for general headlines like the big news, but if you subscribe to espn nfl, they'll send you football headlines and stuff like that.

once you sub to a couple sites, you'll see what it is real quick. it's kind of like twitter i guess.

it might be more powerful than this.. but i just use it as an easy way to keep track of news and give me some reading material while i'm bored.
