I know FORD has stepped the QUALITY of their vehicles up big time, but what about the two aforementioned brands?

I don't have any experience with either.
But, you get more for your money compared to Japanese cars.
Hyundai Genesis give you more power-to-weight ratio for your dollar compared to the Subaru BRZ.
Kia Soul is cheaper than the Scion xB.

Not to mention KIA has that 10 year, 100k mile warranty

They are a great value because of the initial low price, but you will take a beating in resale value.

The Japanese manufacturers have priced their cars very competitively as of late, and they have a proven track record of reliability. Also they're cars are generally refined than their Korean counterparts. Imo its worth it paying a little extra for that.

So in other words, if I have a choice between Honda, Kia and Hyundai, go ahead and spend the extra few grand to have that piece of mind

A coworker of mine just copped the Kia Optimia ( the turbo I think) he's saying its one of the best cars he's owned.

From what I know of these two companies from when I used to be a tech at aamco. You save in initial costs with their general low pricing, but I found that their parts were every bit as expensive as Japanese cars. (mounts, waterpumps, basic stuff that goes bad)

I know that both companies offer great warranties and hyundai is doing some kind of buy back assurance program so :manny:

Test drive them all, and see how you feel. Your the one that's going to have to live with the car.
I test drove the new accord recently and that thing is a significantly better car than a Sonata rental I had awhile back. Better quality interior fit and finish. Much more composed ride, flat through corners, and pretty peppy. If you actually go with the manual transmission that thing will GO. 0-60 in 6.6 , seconds, on regular fuel. Id scoop that up if I we're in the market for a family sedan.

Also, the 10 year kia Hyundai warranty only applies to the power train after 60k, and is not transferable.

Can't go wrong with a Honda man. Mines has 238k on it and I have never had any problems out of it. Hopefully I can get atleast 400k out of it before I cop something else. My next car, lol, an Accord on a Nissan Cube. I'm not big on automobiles, just want something good and great mpg

kia /hyundai make up for shytty resale value with 2 things, that 100k warranty and u get really good trade in value to get another kia/hyundai. my friends dad bought an 09 kia optima before they redesigned them, traded it in last year and got way better trade in than he would've gotten from another dealer or selling it private party.

both have really stepped up their exterior/interior designing and u get good gas mileage with both.
definitely test drive all cars you're considering.

My pool teammate has a Hyundai Sonata and he loves it to death. He's loving how efficient the car is and how comfortable the car is. I have a friend that bought the Hyundai Genesis coupe. She got the 4-cyl one and she is loving it too.

I've got the 12' Sonata turbo limited, fully loaded. Great on gas and that shyt moves when you need it to. Good family car if that's what you're in the market for. I'm going to cop the new Santa Fe Turbo for Wifey next year off the strength of this purchase.
