Pro Africa might not be the word but it seems they were for everyone who wanted Western Powers out of Africa.

Is this because they were Anti Capitalism or could they have truly wanted Africans to be free? What would China, Russia, etc gain from a Communist Africa?

THE SOVIETS TRIED TO EMPHASIZE THE BROTHERHOOD OF ALL MEN UNDER COMMUNISM IN CONTRAST TO THE WHITE SUPREMACIST CULTURE OF THE CAPITALIST USA, BROTHER!

Are there any "Successful" communist countries? I know their suppose to be "classless" but you have the likes of China where there is still a rich elite and then a bunch of poor ppl

The expansion of socialism and the acquisition of allies in a land that was arguably going to be freed of westerners colonial influence sooner rather than later. They were going to capitalize where the other westerners would fail (due to hate of colonialism).

I myself need to read more about this process though, thanks for reminding me breh.

A couple of people already mentioned it, during the cold war era capitalism & communism were in a battle to become the superpower and since most developing countries were already colonized, experienced the flip side of capitalisim, and gaining independence, it became easy for the marxist ideology to grab a foothold in those places.

IMO it wasint that the marxists 'cared' more for African countries but they simply saw an opportunity to expand in places where capitalisms hold was weak.
