Rapper surrenders after confrontation with club guard

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Dequantes Lamar, also known as Rich Homie Quan, has surrendered to police weeks after allegedly attacking a nightclub security guard who denied him entrance into the venue.

According to Miami Beach Police, Lamar surrendered Wednesday and is expected to be charged with simple battery.

The 25-year-old rapper attempted to enter LIV at the Fontainebleau during the early morning hours of March 23, but a security guard said he and his entourage were denied entry into the VIP area because the club was at capacity. That is when, the guard, Christian Cajigas, said Quan punched him in the face. The guard was left with a bloodied lip and injured nose.

Cajigas said the 25-year-old and his entourage then fled across Collins Avenue to an awaiting boat and sped off.
