That's something that is VERY overlooked. Most artists have a Manager... 1 person who us utilizing their relationships to help further the artist they're pushings career. CAA is an AGENCY that has waaaaaaay more outlets, resources & more importantly ESTABLISHED RELATIONSHIPS IN ALL AREAS OF THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, NOT JUST THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. A normal Manager will have to make cold calls & hope to get 5 minute meetings with people to help their artist meanwhile CAA represents everyone in Hollywood from Tom Cruise to Bon Jovi to Shia Labouf to Will Smith...
Do people understand what kind of resources & power CAA has??? Chance is not your typical around the way rapper trying to get his song played on Power92 at 2am on the Home Jam Hour & performing at local Open Mics... no... he's already in the company of people who make millions on top of millions a year. Give any artist that kind of resource & they would be getting the same treatment as Chance... Drake didn't even have that much power behind him & Hip Hop & Gee are super plugged in the Music Industry.
Of course Chance doesn't need a Major Record Deal... he already has the resources they offer & more... why sign???
