Doc was iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...saw this shyt in theaters, it was a pretty narcissistic movie ....everybody ice t interviewed did a lil tap dance praising him talking bout how he somehow inspired them:childplease: ....also between every sequence it would cut to some generic shot of ice t lookin gangster walking in his leather jacket thru NYC with an ice grill...he also neglected a lot of southern/Midwest mc's from the movie...he mainly focused on NY n LA n even had the nerve to showcase some of his horrifying raps :snoop: I think the movie was cool but it could've been a lot better

my only real complaint.

but movies about this subject are rarely ever made, or rarely have this quality of mc's featured. in that sense i found it great

at this point, Ice T has influenced a lot of MC's so i don't see a problem with that. as far as his "neglecting" the south and midwest, you can't do everthing and maybe theres a bunch of deleted scenes that are on the dvd :manny:

That or he left it out for the possibility of Art of Rap 2. This might be his first movie/doc but he knows how the business works.

shyt was aight. Ice T was being an a$$hole during the Q-Tip part. How the fukk you standing on a busy NY street and expect people not to stop and look or say something? Then you call them out of their names.

I liked this but after a while there wasn't much depth to it . Rapper talks about rap then rapper raps / repeat.

Some of them had some good stuff to say though . Interesting how they talked about people from the inner city having to revert to turntables over using instruments due to space constraints. And how this helped birth hip hop.

I liked what Nas had to say , and KRS story was damn funny about how he decided to start MC'ing after a dude freestyled about his bad dress sense. :pachaha:

Yeah I kinda agree with this.

I only recently watched this but I was disappointed with the lack of depth to many of the interviews. For a documentary that's all about the art of actual MC'n and rapping, too many of the interviews were a bit generic and didn't go into detail of how the MC's formed their raps.

That's why I liked the interviews with Rakim and Eminem, because they actually explained the more technical side of constructing rhymes.
