Do you know what mastered means :childplease:

well there are two different types of "masters"

sometimes one can refer to the master as the master recording (main/final session with all the raw files that make up the track).

other times mastering is post-production process thats after mixing when the tracks overall volume is raised where the highs are much higher and the lows are lower and gives the track its life.

Im seeing some people got the definition wrong in this thread.

The changes to those tracks are moreso just creative edits that were thrown in after givin the track its final listen by the artist...etc.

Masteriing process ruins alot of rnb's albums, as when the backup vocals gets cleaned up, or instead of the digital instruments they use live bands in the final edit, and the tracks jus looses its feel.

I dont think thats mastering, thats more-so creative editing thats around the mixing process. Cleaning up specific vocal channels is done with mixing. There are tweaks done in mastering but its done on the track as a whole & mostly based around volume/EQ. At least thats my exp. with it.
