Early child hood

And wayyyy out of left field

I grew up in the southwest.Went to school with a bunch of Mexicans.

Came back from lunch one day, my teacher, and most of the girls in

my class was bawling their eyes out.Shyt had me :dwillhuh: "Selena died:mjcry:"

They told me.Didn't know who she was, but later saw that Bidi Bidi Bom Bom

video on TV.I felt the sadness & trauma.Being right there with the Mexican folk.

That memory got branded on my brain.Whenever I hear that song, it takes me

back to that time.

Feel like this song got played on the radio all summer during the 90’s. Specifically reminds me of the summers when my Kappa uncle’s were trying to groom me to become a Kappa. They would pick me up and we would drive down to Chicago State to hang out with their frat on that campus even though they attended Northwestern. Very much an HBCU vibe at the time. We’d be in the student center and out on their yard. They’d have this song blasting on the speakers. They’d be out strolling and twirling their canes. I would be off just observing everybody. I remember folks wearing kufis. And I remember lots of folks wearing black, red, and green. It was the first time as a kid that I felt the energy of black pride, black unity, and black love.

Breh! I remember I was a child with my pops in the waiting room waiting while my mom had an appointment & they played it. First time I heard the joint was when that happened in 03, my pops gone now but this joint does it.
