I remember when M.J. released "Butterflies" as a radio single back in 2001 from "Invincible".
I thought it was :manny: and didn't really care for it at the time, cause I was still hung up on
"You Rock My World" :mj:

but eventually it grew on me and is now one of my favorite tracks from that album.

what about the coli fam? what you got?

^^^Heard this song nonstop a few years ago, and would always turn it off before it got to the bridge. Finally listened to it in its entirety, and really liked it.

^^^This version ain't too bad either....

I heard it during one of the down periods of High School and didn't pay it any mind initially. Moms got the Speakerboxx album and down the line it became one of my faves.

To this day, I don't like this song, but holy shyt after being bombarded with it for months I realized I knew the lyrics and would sing along. W.O.A.T song, too catchy.

This song was EVERYWHERE when it came out. While I worked at UPS, they would have the radio on a soul channel and this song would play at least once an hour.
I know the lyrics, still think the song is ass.

I could list a half dozen songs, but these two are primarily what I remember blasting out of the radio when I hung out at a comic shop back in high school. I was already
on the Tony Hawks Pro Skater wave so my interests opened up and I became sold on listening to non-rap genres.

I'm saying it in 2015 that "Man in the Box" is still on my iPod. :noah:

no doubt I got a few select tracks from "Wonder What's Next", "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)" and "Vena Sera".
I kinda lost interest with Chevelle's later releases.

:francis:Breh, man in the box objectively speaking sounds fukking awful. Thing is, we used to sit in this hot ass comic shop slinging yugioh and Magic cards,
walled in by oodles of comic books, figurines, snacks, and graphic novels. This rock station, Q101(rip) was always blasting, and sure enough, Man in the Box would come on.

When i was doing my 4am gym runs, Man in the Box was on loop for back day:banderas:Especially T bar rows. As big a no doubt fan as I am, nothing of theirs gets played
by me anymore. I pretty much overdid it, save for once every blue moon playing "Spiderwebs".
Chevelle, to me, wasn't very interesting after "the red". I got HOOKED on Hoobastank though. Anytime their music comes on, I get transported back to angst-filled highschool days.:mjcry:

it's funny you mentioned that cause that's how I got into "Man in the Box" too.
when "92.3 K-Rock" was around, they played it constantly, that and Prince's "Darling Nikki" cover by Foo Fighters.

I still always check for the new albums of commercial bands that I fukked with heavy as a young'n. like A7X, Shinedown, Rev Theory, HIM, Hinder, etc...
although I recently stopped fukking with Hinder when I found out they replaced their front man with some lame... it just isn't the same.

now I usually fill my "Rock n' Roll" Playlist overall with older bands. Classic and 80's Metal bands.

:ohlawd:Maaaaaaaaaan, don't even get me started. That old shyt sounds too good when it comes on. I remember Rev Theory, Him, and Hinder playing all the time.
I moved over to weird shyt in the meantime cause music quality has taken a dive. Nowadays I fukk with old Foo Fighters songs (after hearing everlong play randomly one day), Purity Ring,
Camera Obscura, and 80s hair bands. My catalog is all over the place, from Frank Sinatra and Bobby Vinton to The Cranberries and Gucci Mane:mjlol:

:salute:

I'm the same way.
I can't stand close-minded people that only fukk with one genre of music. makes no sense to deprive your ears from great music, no matter who you are.

I have genre's on genre's of a wide variety of music tracks. whatever mood strikes me at any given moment, I got the perfect song for each one.
