The big difference here is that the PS2 did that being THE console in people’s houses. The Switch was always a side piece to go with something else. Most people with a switch got an Xbox or PS in the house too.

They stopped reporting on sales from it a year before production ended. Probably because the PS3 was doing horrible numbers
