Crossgen is why I always buy multiplats on xbox and just exclusives on my ps5. This isn’t an issue if you own both consoles though.

The profit only comes when people buy the games. Gamers show time and time again that they'll pretend they're principled about something, then turn around and buy everything that goes against their weak ass principles. It's a negative feedback loop, and these companies are only going to put out what sells. There's a reason Ubisoft puts out the same game with a different skin every year. There's a reason 2K is selling $70 roster updates. There's a reason every game feels the need to tack on a battle royale. Gamers have proved they'll buy it.
