As an investor, this is a totally different conversation
and EPS/ROI is the important metric
as a consumer, net worth means absolutely nothing to me
Sony is an electronics hardware manufacturer, record label, videogame publisher etc.
Disney operates theme parks, cruises etc.
They have their fingers in way more entertainment pies than Netflix

Overall value of the company isn't the determining factor on who's running an industry.
Netflix is valued more than Sony but Sony earns almost 3x as much revenue yearly.
Its like Tesla being valued at over a trillion dollars but Toyota earns more than 3x what Tesla makes while being valued at 25 percent of what Tesla is valued. Toyota is clearly the market leader over Tesla even though they're worth less.
If you owned Netflix you could sell enough shares to buy Sony outright and still owned enough of Netflix to control the company.
The value of the company is what investors weigh the value of the business. To the market Netflix business model is worth more than Sony's because of its prospects going forward. Netflix ROIC is like 22% and Sony is like 3%.

Tesla could buy Toyota, doesn't change the fact that Toyota is the leader of the auto industry and its not even close.
And I didn't say Netflix was a better game maker or record label I said video. The sum total of Netflix is their video streaming service. Peel off just PlayStation from Sony's numbers and as a company their total revenue drops at least about 30 billion and is dangerously close to Netflix total revenue. Netflix is the crowing jewel of video right now. That's damn near almost all they do. If you pulled off Sony's video business and compared it to Netflix's do you honestly believe it's better or worth more? Hell you have to add all of Sony's businesses combined to get the numbers you're comparing to just a video streaming service. Netflix isn't a consumer electronics company, TV maker, record label or #1 home console maker with a platform that takes 30% from publishers. All Netflix is is that streaming service and I've never heard anybody say they subbed to Netflix to play video games.
Your comparison is faulty because you're comparing a company that basically just does video to a multinational conglomerate that has their hands in many businesses.
We're talking about the leader in the entertainment industry overall, not just leaders of the video streaming market.
Everything you're saying is irrelevant to the topic at hand.
And Sony might be the leader in gaming but they aren't in video. It's also doubtful they're bigger than UMG as a record label. I don't think anybody is really trying to compete with them on Anime.
