Asked if tension could mount between he and Foles as the competition plays out this summer, Vick said, “Yeah, but hopefully we’ll have an answer by then, so I’m not going to answer that.

“I won’t want to continue to answer those questions. I won’t continue to answer those questions until Chip makes a decision.”

Reminded that Kelly has frequently said no timetable exists for the coaches to make a decision, Vick said, “Then I’m not gonna answer any questions.”

Dodging questions about the No. 1 theme of training camp could potentially bring some criticism his way, from media and fans. Many of Vick’s teammates will also be asked to weigh in on the race.

Vick isn’t concerned about any backlash that may come from being selective with questions he will answer.

“Why not? Who cares?” he said. “Y’all [in the media] kill me anyway, whether it’s right or wrong.”

A few moments later, Vick was approached again to make sure he understood that his comments were on the record. He responded by asking the reporter to print his request that Kelly settle on a starter before camp to avoid the rampant speculation.

That's cool that he's competitive and wants the job and all (and he's 100% right about the media, I ain't mad at him at ALL for that comment), but let's be real....

Whether he wants to admit it or not, Vick has problems making the right reads in the requisite amount of time. Yes, he got sacked alot because the line was trash last year, but it's also been well-documented that he holds onto the ball far too long, thus compounding the situation.

In Chip's offense, that won't fly. So yeah, Chip has to do his due diligence and not just GIVE the job away. Completely logical.

Accordingly, if Chip wants to see how ere'body looks first in pads at full speed before he makes a choice, that's fair and he's entitled to that and he shouldn't be RUSHED into making a decision, especially by a nikka who ain't exactly coming off his strongest season and who most people didn't even want to come back.

It's a new system. I could see if Vick played in this system LAST year, or otherwise was a MASTER of this system or something....but he still has to learn it like ere'body else. Hell, from what I understand he don't even have a grasp on the shyt....

Vick need to fall back on this and chill...that's my dude and all (and my former neighbor), but he's getting ahead of himself here. Go EARN the job....it's fukking Dennis Dixon, Nick Foles and Matt Barkley, how hard could it be to EARN the damn job from them, Mike?

i think foles is gonna win out, it's strange cause all the QBs are pretty mobile but i think foles is the best fit for that high flying air attack shyt and he had a lot of big games at UA despite not getting the wins


we can't forget dennis dixon played at oregon albeit before chip (i think he's an adequate backup for the nfl he aint starting here though) but i dont see him getting cut maybe for that reason
