Tony was not supposed to kill anybody. His job was to to take sosa assassin around new York. Realistically tony should have hired someone from New York to do it.

He worked for Sosa.
And all Cartel bosses are in the field especially when it's time to put in some major work.
He failed at his job he was personally sent to do by the big boss, killed his right hand man in anger and then cursed him out when he called him to find out what happened. Of course he was gonna die.

Tony should have done what he was told. Dumbass wants to have principles at the crucial moment. Like the drugs he was pushing didn't destroy hundreds of families. He wants to draw the line when he has to actually see a family suffer from his lifestyle. He went out like a G though. Smoked most of Sosa's men. Didn't even feel those bullets until the terminator put that shotgun in his back.

He OOFéd Omar just for saying that he had to check in with Frank. Sosa told Tony all he needed to know then.
