.... has probably done more damage to the colored community then scarface, menace II society or anything other "hood" movie you can think of.
Those movies at least left nikkas with a decent perception of the choices that lead to the downfalls of the characters in them..........not soul food tho.....
One only needs to watch the first family dinner scene to see what time it is. The grandmother, while preparing it, unknowlingly starts cooking her forearm before one of her daughters notices. The reason she doesnt notice her arm sauteing is because she has diabetes (the cause of which is never given a thought) and hasnt taken her medicine because she"...dont need no pills..." or whatever that dumb shyt she said was. So, after the daughters chastise her for not taking her medicine and wrap her fried arm in a to-go bandage what do they do? They all sit down to one of the most unhealithest meals a human-being could eat........and allow grandma free reign at the head of the table.
They mind as well had gave the bytch a crackpipe.......
i cut the movie off after that but if i remember correctly, at the end of the movie, when the grandma has died from her daibetes, the family sits down to another one of those death meals in homage
