Won't mean anything if he can't get developers to make games for it.
I doubt EA is creating titles for PC, PS4, XB1, Nintendo switch, and Soldier Boy.
He'll have to rely on exclusive indie developers and hope a few of their games are hits.
The titles are more important than the console so i hope he got them all in order.

This is the same thing as downloading an emulator and roms on your phone. It's not something anyone will be developing games for.

If he was smart he should financed someone to make a game console.
Its not hard really put it in a raspberry pi computer which is $35 and 3d print a case.
He could find some small time game developers to develop for his console. And they could download games for free for the price of a subscription

Yeah, he has just made it easier to run\play for mainstream, but most gamers have or had a emulator

No small time dev is going to waste their time on this. People put their savings and years of work into getting out an indie game, they're not going to risk wasting everything for soulja boy's pet project.
The Ouya had financial backing, a unique design, buzz from the gaming and tech industry etc and it still flopped. This thing is even worse than that.
He should have started up a small development company and started putting out mobile games, that's where the money is. That's why the major developers are branching out into mobile development now.

Realistically the only way anyone could successfully startup a new game console to compete with the existing ones, is if they offer highly desired games you can't get anywhere else. If i was rich, my first priority before even creating a console would be getting a exclusive contract with a popular IP. Like how EA is right now the only company allowed to make star wars games or (somehow still fukking it up but still)
I would try to do that with a major franchise that markets itself, like marvel, or DC, The NFL, NBA, even star trek or Game of Thrones. Failing that, there is no point in even trying.
