Spectrum Sports has learned that a Florida Gators player implicated running back Jordan Scarlett and wide receiver Rick Wells into an ongoing investigation of a misuse of school issued funds.

According to a source, the Gators player named both Scarlett and Wells to the University of Florida Police Department.

The Gators will now be without 10 players for Saturday’s opener, but that number could rise. A source tells Spectrum Sports more players will be suspended in the future due to their involvement in the ongoing UFPD investigation.

The source says that their involvement in the alleged misconduct is the reason both will be suspended for Saturday’s season opener against Michigan. Head coach Jim McElwain confirmed Wednesday the two players will not travel to Arlington, Texas, but did not specifically address the reason for their suspension. McElwain says he wasn’t made aware of Scarlett and Wells involvement until Wednesday afternoon.

Scarlett led UF in rushing last year, totaling 889 yards and six touchdowns. He was expected to start this week.

On August 13, seven players, including top wide receiver Antonio Callaway were suspended. Multiple reports link the seven suspensions to a misuse of school issued funds.

Florida is going 5-7 this year.

Including massacres at the hands of Michigan, Tennessee, LSU, and Florida State.

Gonna be a bad year in Gainesville. Real bad.

I mean that's how it's gonna go and that's how it should be :shaq:.

Still believe our D, should injuries not occur Saturday, is good enough to keep us in it. Gonna need big plays on offense tho :francis:
I dont believe Franks is ready breh..I saw him Spring game, even against 2nd and third stringers he looked timid...The good thing for you guys is Michigan is pretty green right now with only 5 starters back...But I believe Mac probably need to suspend Callaway, Robinson, and Scarlett for 3 games, each on their 2nd and third major offenses

Doug Nussmeier is a real life example of a white man constantly failing upwards. Enjoy

He got better last year. I still wished we played with more tempo and not slow and plodding. We finished, surprise surprise, in the bottom ten in the NATION in total plays ran or something along those lines. It's like we're constantly snapping it with 5 secs or less on the play clock

Suspend them this week and next week. Callaway NEEDS to be kicked off the team but obviously we knew that wasnt gonna happen. Low key, i do wonder if the NCAA is giving us a long hard look. Treon fiasco, Will Grier shyt, this shyt, Callaway on his 4th offense.

As far as Franks, i think he's the best option. Thought he looked solid in the spring game but I've learned to not take the spring game as a barometer because Driskel, Brantley, and Treon all had promising spring games and they all turned out to be bums. Gonna come down to both of our lines. If we can't block or can't penetrate them.........:francis:
