South Korean teacher kills, eats hamster in front of students

He killed the hamster to save the hamster: a South Korean teacher said he murdered and ate the small pet to teach the kids a lesson after after its cohorts "died from teasing" by them.
A sick teacher in South Korea bit a hamster to death before eating it in front of students he said teased its brethren to death, to teach them the value of life.
The 44-year-old educator killed the creature at a Jeongeup boarding school May 11, reports the Korean Times.
The man, identified only as Yu, said he was angry after finding out that some of the youngsters were teasing the animals.
He claimed he carried out the horrifying attack to teach them "how dear life is" and, slightly bizarrely, because he was "afraid of rats."
Shocked parents filed a complaint with cops following the incident.
Yu attended Jeongeup Police Station and reportedly confessed to the killing. He was booked for child abuse.
"I couldn't control the situation and couldn't stand it," he told Yonhap News Agency.
"While watching the hamsters die from teasing, I thought I should teach the children it was wrong to make light of life," he reportedly added.
Yu has since apologized to the children, parents and other teachers.
