Usually when cats talk about OutKast's albums these days it's Aquemini, ATLiens and Stankonia

Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik has become underrated over the years

I remember the first time I heard this album; it was in the spring of 94'. My sister had the album on cassette

Man, the beats were the first thing that stood out to me, cause the beats hit so hard and they were funky.

Then when I started listening to the lyrics, I was like, these dudes are nice.

The double album is more underrated. When people speak of Kast's best three, it's usually their first three. Now in relation to ATLiens and Aquemini, SPCM is underrated as many often rank those two albums ahead of SPCM.

In regard to Stankonia, it usually ranks 3rd or 4th in their catalog. It is their first uneven album and it has some of their worst songs. Still, it is a great album, but not on par with the first three. Before Stankonia, you could argue they didn't have any wack songs, but "Call Be Before I Come" and a few others are wack and Stankonia could be trimmed a bit. Too many songs. I get why they chose to do a double album the next go round.

People who were introduced to Kast with Stankonia think that album is GOAT level. I still remember a classmate who had that album as the best ever.

In recent years, Southernplayasticadillacmuzik doesn't get the same amount of shine that Aquemini or ATLiens gets.

When most cats name OutKast best albums, it's usually always ATLiens and Aquemini first.

I don't even know if it's underrated, just cause most people rank two other album above it and still label it with that classic stamp. Most people would rank Jay or Nas above say KRS or Common but still call them goat-level, doesn't necessarily make them underrated.

Player's ball was a big single probably their second biggest of the 90s, even I remember that and I was really young when it dropped.

funny thing is..the double album....if u listen to entire dre album...dre literally gives u the summary of the album oat the end of the album...

I've encountered people who were self-professed OutKast fans who weren't even aware they had albums before Stankonia.
