I used to think @yomoms really didn't that hard of time to find a job until I started job hunting. I fill out hella applications and nobody calls me back. Someone told me that I should start writing letters to the manager but why would I do that for a Walmart job :dahell:

I can see why people sell drugs and teddy bears on the corner now.

I'm not even saying stupid shyt on my applications either :mindblown: I'm almost 19 and I havent had a job.

UPS will hire anyone anytime but its terrible. Other than that, you got to know someone or be a decent looking girl.

If you're black, wear preppy clothes and talk preppy as possible. Or try to play a will smith type character in the 90s.

If you're Mexican or Arab dont even bother :mjlol: just get some type of landscaping or manual labor job, they're not gonna stick u with any type of customers unless you're decent looking girl

  • If you have any large retirement homes in your area, try there. Sometimes they need help in their dining rooms.
  • Call the high school you went to and get in touch with a guidance counselor. Sometimes they have partnerships with local establishments and may be able to suggest you some places.
  • If you have a car, start riding around office complexes or small companies and look for "help wanted" signs. Smaller companies may not advertise on larger job boards
  • If you have a car, deliver pizza, cut grass or something like that
  • Sign up for LinkedIn and search their job boards as well

Job hunting isn't easy.
Go to your local unemployment/department of labor/whatever state job office. Tell them you are looking for a job and need help. You can ask to talk to a job counselor for help.
Did you graduate from high school with a diploma or do you have a GED or are you a drop out?

Temp agencies & Recruiters are the best option

We still cool, but this is terrible advice. Never use temp agencies unless it is a very last resort. You'll lose in the long run when you have to pay the agency that got your job a percentage of your wages for 6 months or more.. sometimes a whole year. Hiring agencies and employers have and will run this game on you. The only way you stop paying the agency when the hiring company hires you as a full-fledged employee.. or you quit.

How old are you OP? Do you have any skills? What are your interests?

After months of searching I landed a quick gig a few weeks back.

My advice is to apply to a bunch of stores. I applied to about 15 different stores from CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens and Best Buy each in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Also fix up your resume. make it look good.

Don't apply online actually walk into each business you see and ask for a manager then explain you're looking for work and what your qualifications are.
