The words are the words, they know the words regardless of how he says it.

My spelling is awful to be honest. Well I wouldn't say it is awful but it is something I deliberately didn't focus on as a kid.

As far as I was concerned, understanding concepts was more important that remembering the order of letters.

Exactly this. Can always look up the spelling just like I can always look up the capitol of whatever podunk state I flew over to hit the coast.
