Crime may be overblown here. Having lived in North STL majority of my life I didn't see anything unusual or feel unsafe. Early part of the day checked out Soul Vegetarian and the NOI 's mosque.. In the area around St . Lawrence and few other "infamous" neighborhoods and nothing seemed odd. Just people trying to live. Felt more comfortable South as opposed to the area by Wrigley.
