Indiana Jones trilogy which along with Star Wars pretty much created the Summer blockbuster model. E.T. which was pretty much the biggest family/sci-fi movie ever. Jurassic Park which brought fukking dinosaurs to life with practical effects. :ohlawd: Saving Private Ryan opening scene maybe the most realistic war scene ever shot. :wow:

How is it even possible to accomplish all of this in 17 years. :whoo:

1981 Raiders of the Lost Ark
1982 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
1983 Twilight Zone: The Movie
1984 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
1985 The Color Purple
1987 Empire of the Sun
1989 Always
1989 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
1991 Hook
1993 Jurassic Park
1993 Schindler's List
1997 The Lost World: Jurassic Park
1997 Amistad
1998 Saving Private Ryan

Jaws created the summer blockbuster model. This "run", if you can call 20 years a run lol, definitely needs to start with that.

And honestly, should extend at least to Munich.

But who doesn't know Spielberg is awesome?

JAWS was 1975. It's not just that his filmography is ridiculous it's that he was coming out with classics almost every year. That kind of work rate is amazing. Of course everyone knows he is one of the best to ever do it but much like Barry Bonds or (insert legendary person here) you don't REALLY appreciate it until you take a step back and marvel at what took place. I should neg you.

You beat me to it. Jaws was the first summer blockbuster and changed the entire distribution model for films.

Agreed on both; Jaws is the start of everything that Hollywood is now and Munich is a masterpiece on every level and the last great film Spielberg made. His new spy thriller this Christmas might change that though

Munich is 2005 though. The point of this thread is how he was dropping classics nearly every year or two from the time Raiders came out. That is crazy. A.I. is pretty underrated though. That is a beautifully shot film.

Crystal Skull and Lincoln were :ld: especially Crystal Skull. I hope his new shyt hits.

Lincoln was only decent because of Daniel Day-Lewis doing a great job as usual, but the script/source material was garbage.
