You're priming people left and right in this thread. You clearly have an objective and are not doing a real study whatsoever. You're gonna get the answer you want, because you set it up that way.

That's not how you do studies. Take a research methods course or something.

Plus, I'll shyt all over your sample. The findings of this "study" mean nothing. It's just you trying to prove a point by using flawed methodology.

It's always better to have greater differentiation. Binary systems are flawed and don't tell you much. The difference between a 7 and a 9 is substantial, but with this like/dislike system, you'll never see that. The more you can break something down the better. When you measure something you always want to have the greatest differential. You can always break it down to a binary, but you can't make a binary a likert scale, for example

Well, 2 outlets doing that doesn't concern me. I'm not worried about it at all. The 1-10 system is here to stay for most things. People like numbers.

If they do go away, then I'll just wait for somebody to do a steam type thing with reviewers, were they'll give qualitative categories (overwhelmingly negative, mostly negative, negative, positive, mostly positive, overwhelmingly positive). You'll see that the steam system is really a number system, but they're just replacing the 1-6 with labels.

I have no problem with women. I've slept with my fair share and have had several long term relationships. I'm single now, but that's for the better.

Just because I know a lot about tests and measurements doesn't mean I can't hold a conversation about something else. I work with numbers all day. Why would I not know about that shyt? I've spent over a decade doing research and dealing with tests and measurements. I know about this shyt. I'm not just some random on a forum doing a bullshyt study, priming people to give the answer I want, to prove a point.

You got 20K posts on here and stan consoles. Maybe you need help dealing with women?

In the other thread, y'all was making it seem like you communicate this way in all aspects of life crunching down simple shyt to complex numbers which imo makes you come off as a cornball and a fukking tool. I'm not saying you shouldn't be privy to numbers and certain information but if I'm just chilling and shyt, I don't want to hear about numbers and binary code, just give me a damn brief description and shyt.

The thread is about discussions "with friends", not colleagues at some major IT firm discussing the efficiency of the latest malware scanner.

I don't really see your point in bringing up my post count, it doesn't take much to type a smiley or a small comment throughout the day. I'm on the phone most of the time, I can post from anywhere. When I'm in the house on the PC, the coli is usually open.

Right now, I'm posting here while diagnosing a friends PC. I'm heading out to NY in a few.

I'd say my day so far is about a 6.5/10.

One of my work colleagues always rates everything out of 5. When we're talking about Movies albums etc..Even girls. ( not even out of 10..always out of 5.)

Me: Man I saw *movie* at the weekend. It was cool.

If I'm playing a fighting game and i ask how good is this character, you could easily tell me in a few words or sentences the usefulness of such character with a few pro's/cons.

Saying "Man Akuma is like a 9/10" sounds so unnatural. Technology has gotten people sounding robotic as hell now. There's a time and place for everything breh, that's all.

Well I think reviews of things should be broken down on a 10 point scale. It gives you more room to make an accurate rating. Just saying "I liked it" doesn't tell me much. Plus, just one opinion means nothing. You need multiple sources to get an accurate representation.

Dumbing this shyt down does not help at all. You're gonna be stuck with a ton of games that are rated "like". No differential makes it hard to compare.

Like I said there's a big difference between a 7 and a 9 game. With a binary measurement you aren't able to see that difference.
