I see a lot of people talking 3rd parties, but that won't really work because of the spoiler effect.

If you have one far-left party (say, the Green Party), one moderate left-party (say, Dems), and one right wing party (say, Repubs), then the right wing party is always going to win (despite probably being the least favorite of the most voters) unless the two leftist parties merge into one. Same if there were two right wing parties.

Because of that we'll probably always devolve into two major parties. Only real way around it I can think of is IRV (where voters get to rank candidates in order of preference).
i dont buy this because youve had other countries with more than two parties. the problem is people being brainwashed into thinking a 3rd party cant win. if everyone went out and voted 3rd party theres nothing to stop that person from winning. people gotta stop being brainwashed, i think one of the biggest reasons Trump won that hardly gets talked about is that the MSM acted lke Hilary had a 98 percent chance to win or whatever bullshyt. so lots of people were like, trump aint a threat and i dont want to vote for hilary. if people knew like damn trump can win, trust more people wouldve came out, but people bought into the MSM lie. even when people know or have the general idea like yeah mainstream is bullshyt they still let it affect them. people need to stop listening to them completely. theyre owned by corps and even when they want the better option like in the case of Hilary vs Trump, theyre either out of touch or they used the wrong strategy.

Isnt enough to differentiate ? Theres literally a whole group of leftists in the country that have nobody to vote for. Its center right vs extreme far right fascists. thats why nobody wants to vote

I actually think theres a chance maybe in 20 years or maybe even less, that the Dems take all the non crazy conservatives into their base, the repubs just die out and a new party becomes the left party. The repubs wouldnt even exist without the electoral college they wouldnt have had a president since 1992

i'd be hesitant to call the Green Party far Left. but that's just my personal bias, and how a few of them are flunkies for the Koch bros

I thought 2016 was a prime year for a third party to emerge but they all fumbled the ball. Both major candidates were so disliked yet they still couldn't get any traction.

I think they go about it in the wrong way. They always spend their funding on the presidential election..what they need to do is start incredibly local with young candidates that eventually build up the cache to run for a bigger seat

I always wondered why there isn't third party representatives in the house, or state level

Get money out of politics, fix gerrymandering, and acknowledge and incorporate the fact that this country has 5 political parties now: Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Tea Party, and Green Party.

trumps success shows how low intellectual standards are in the united states. like i see swarths of people on the social media comments of news stories talking about vast conspiracies to discredit the president and defending him with no logical basis. on top of that the country has horrible ethical standards that are a result of it not just being built on genocide and slavery, but the fact that americas never really done shyt to atone for or educate its people about any of its atrocities.
so you really need a complete overhaul of educational standards (for the whole country) and ethical standards (for white people). of course white people control the political power and would see this as an attack on their heritage so it will never happen
