I know of 5 stories...1 in my family, where a physician ended up losing his medical license for participating in the stupid stuff....like the type of scheme you described.

They got in when the rules for foreign doctors..and foreign trained doctors int the US were lax.

Physicians were much better compensated in America..and during those days.

Threw it away for fake accident schemes.

The story in the OP doesn't mention drugs/alcohol but certainly the guy was high when he threw GASOLINE on a fire.

That's the thing. They don't think taking these types of risks in America could be life changing unlike back home
