Even when I was working part-time retail I found it awkward to ask or be asked

Now as a grown up it's even more awkward, why do you need to know, am I asking you for a loan? :usure::camby:

I think it's ok but most people aren't going to share. I definitely ask and have no qualms sharing.

Why do you want to know?

Your name
I'm nosey. :manny: but asking has also helped raised awareness of my earning potential. I would probably be still selling myself short in terms of income if I hadn't.

I think that's why a lot of people here call duck tales when people state how much they are making. Yeah if you're making $12 an hour and you're the highest paid amongst your friends surely you're going to think 6 Figures is a lie.

Myself. fukk 12(1)!
The only people that need to know are my husband and the people that pay me. 5 years ago, I would have included my bank (mortgage). Other than that, it's not really anyone else's business. If they want a general idea of what the average person makes in my position, they can go to glassdoor.com LOL

Fair enough but it must be awkward as hell. I wouldn't even know where to begin, making me feel anxious just thinking about it lol

Nah mate, definitely a faux pas imo

When did you and your husband discuss this?

I know it's important for couples to share this info and speak candidly about spending/saving but even so, still awkward

Lmao it's not awkward at all to me but I will say I don't ask EVERYONE I meet. I guess just people I'm cool with and some don't tell me at all. Last guy I dealt with told me but it was during a convo where he was mad about some money and I asked him what happened. I don't see it as a big deal.
