Coli friends:

When a man marries a woman in this current society, why are old values still holding true?

With all the women's empowerment taking place, why is the following still an accepted truth?

When a man gets married, man's money = family's money.

When a woman gets married, woman's money = woman's money.

Women are making more money than ever before, yet they still want to have secret, side and other accounts for themselves, but want free access to all of a man's earnings. :dahell:

How do unmarried Coli friends feel about this? How do current Coli married friends deal with finances in the context of marriage and the changing realities of economic empowerment among women?

Where is this happening especially among a group of people where the males have a higher unemployment rate than the women (though the males still earn more)?

I don't see the problem. Man is head of household right? Y'all want your wife to raise the children, cook, clean, take care of the house then your finances cover everything. :manny:

For stay-at-homes mothers and homemakers, that makes perfect sense. I'm not talking about those types.

I'm talking about the women who are making significant money themselves and have careers. Yet, they still want to hold onto old values.

And do you want the modern woman to cook/clean, take care of the kids as well? Or are you gonna hire a nanny to do that?

She can't do all of that anyway if she has a career of her own. :dahell:

So, yes, some of that shyt would be contracted out. I pay for some of the services, the wife pays for some of the services.

Are you gonna be head of household then?

Anyways, black women don't have the luxury of having the man take care of all the finances so I doubt you'd have any arguments regarding this. :manny:
