This is a spin off the thread about Black tv shows going down the drain. Cartoons are the same way. Back in the day, most of it was toy advertisements of course but there was still one here or there actually teaching lessons

They really showed this fiending girl about to blast anyone in between her and pills. Then her brother OD's in front of her on the statue of liberty

Nowadays you turn on Cartoon Network and every show is focused on nonsense

Nowadays you turn on Cartoon Network and every show is focused on depicting at least one LQTBQ couple

I don't keep up with cartoons for kids, but I heard shows like Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, etc. were pretty amazing. I don't watch Rick and Morty either as far as more adult cartoons are considered, but I hear it's great

Anime is obviously still amazing, don't stay sleepin

Every generation gon like what they grew up on better

It's not just about quality, there's plenty of 'good' modern cartoons. But what lessons are they teaching the kids.

When Spongebob hit, shyt got real sad for a min

everyone tried copying Spongebobs Hyper-ADHD and they went to shyt for a min til Adventure Time and Regular Show came in.

Billy and Mandy was straight fire though, held us through in the middle of those times.

The writing is good but they ain't going for the jugular like they did in the 80s. In Bravestarr they straight up killed a kid and showed his grave at the end to drive the point home.

Billy and Mandy is the darkest intended for kids cartoon I've ever seen

Classic :wow:
