I'm thinking about a career change and wanted to see what my minimum salary could be to keep current on my obligations...

Turns out I'm living a pretty thrifty life...$43,000 will cover my mortgage and living expenses...might even have a hundred or two extra some months

$300 for just you? Or do you have dependents?

If it's just you $300 is too much. I spend bout 150-200 max every two weeks on groceries and fast food. And that's when I'm splurging

oh. I just realized fast food was in the 300 dollar budget. If you cook at home more and get cheaper options you could get that down to about 180-220. I spend about 180 for the entire month on food.

I lived pretty good on something around that....had a lot more than "a few hundred" left over as well.

Then again I'm kinda in the south where everything is cheaper

I'm in South Florida... Things ain't really cheap down here..

But good to know what if the sh*t hit the fan I can get a couple $10 - 15 per hour jobs and survive

I'm not even talking about the minimum that you'd like to have..

I'm asking what's the minimum amount it takes for you to maintain your current status (given that you actually like where you are right now)
