I still haven't bought a car yet at 25, even though I am financially able... I lived in Chicago and Now SF so the Public transportation and my bike are sufficient enough and worth the money I am saving... Whenever I want to take a road trip or travel a long distance... I rent a decent car...

made a conscience decision to not have kids or get married.

I don't even know exactly how much money we saved but lets face it. Weddings are for everybody else. I've always thought this and my wife agrees with me. We had a party/reception. We just bought a house and had a 1 year old at the time so we couldn't even really justify spending alot of money on a fancy wedding.

Buying a house is second.

What i pay in mortgage is actually less than I was spending on apartments when I was single and this money is actually building towards ownership where paying rent for an apartment is not. I actually realize now I could've bought a house when I was single a few years ago and been winning.

Even though i had a full scholarship to college for undergrad..i still went out and applied for other scholarships...ended up getting a second scholarship on the recommendation of my professor who saw i had promise in the computer science proram...that gave me an extra 3,000 bucks a semester which i got back in refunds..instead of blowing it all on bullshyt..my pops made me invest a good amount of it in mutual funds and stuff..basically start my portfolio...12 years later i got a nice healthy portfolio

having the ability to save a good percentage of my income when money is coming in

buy a house in 2008 for 250 which is worth about 400k now.. should sell for 370k..

about to buy a 400k house now.. that back then was worth 320... and i will still pay the same 250k mortgage.
