SPINOFF FROM THIS THREAD HERE: I hate to admit it but he's right.

- I had a storefront about a decade ago where we customized and made t-shirts primarily, but we also made license plates, mugs, dog tags, but we never really made any of that shyt, it was primarily t-shirts.

- I'm African American, a bulk of my clientele was also African American; my small staff was African American as well

- I FAILED. i'm not about to sit up here and act like I ran an empire and we made tons of $$$ and bought cars and shyt, we FAILED and ran a FAILED business for 3 whole years. the last year was a complete nightmare

-i've always wanted to talk about my experience running this business but I never really know where to start, so I'm doing a little AMA

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ON HOW TO START A BUSINESS, GET A LOAN, WHAT TO DO, WHAT NOT TO DO - ASK AWAY:

(proof i ain't lying, I got into an argument w/a cat on BGOL years ago about being a small business owner and made this t-shirt for proof that I knew wtf i was talking about)

The Truth
I have a few logos I'm trying to get put on shirts/hats. How hard will that be to accomplish? Are there any places online where I can just send them the logo and pay?

How difficult was it to get a small loan. Did you ever pay it off? Did you make a profit at all during your small business?

I heard that small businesses are terrible investments.. Do you believe that completely?

I'm actually looking to get into the t shirt game.

Would love some pointers.

Dope thread

back then everything was about those big ass pictures on t-shirts, now it's about little phrases and novelty pop culture shyt.

get you a big ass industrial printer that can print on big ass 11 X 17 or order the transfers from an established company

putting people and dogs/cats on t-shirts is SOLID business, it's not gonna make you rich, but it's SOLID.

NONE. i was fresh out of college in my mid 20's man and dead broke - we got a business loan.

- it's easy to put logos on shirts, you just need the right type of transfer paper; i'd recommend doing that on silk screen though

- yes you can send the logo and they'll do it for you

- it was EASY AS fukk TO GET THAT LOAN. we didn't even have a business plan :mjlol:

- i can't say a small business is a bad investment seeing that I didn't invest anything in it but a bunch of time I can't get back.

When it came time to close down were you depressed or did you feel like a failure?

What time frame was this breh?

This HAD to be poppin in like 07-10

yup. '06 - '09...RIP shirts will never get old though

If you have time, could you write the story of the business from beginning to end? Maybe you could answer some questions that people are going to ask that way.

- I thought about that but it's so much man, we were open for 3 years that's a lot of shyt to try and remember
