I know technically if he were alive he'd be in his 80s, but hypothetically speaking

A breh said in another thread that if MLK were here, he'd be real disappointed in where we are as a race right now.

The question is, do you agree or disagree, and why?

MLK would be more disappointed with White people and the USA than Black people.

I think we need to put MLK in a proper historical context...he was a relatively young man...his ideas evolved the more he struggled against the USA to gain equal rights for Black Americans.

He went from focusing on race relations to focusing on the American empire. Malcolm X did the same thing. The Black Panthers did the same thing. How White people treated us in the USA was soon linked to how White people in the USA treats the rest of the world.

The question is...are Black Americans ready to fight against the American empire like MLK, Malcolm X and Black Panthers or we just want the racism within the USA to stop?

He told us to hold hands and love whites. Kinda got what he wanted :blessed:

he died a socialist who opposed white supremacy in the same fashion malcolm did...

the closet racists never tell you that though...they need the conservative martin to make it seem like racism is a work in progress...

MLK was far from the pacifist, Kumbaya type person that mainstream society makes him out to be.

They wouldn't have assassinated him if did not pose a serious threat to the establishment. He had far greater ambitions than "just" securing the right for his people to vote.
