Decided to make this thread for any who enjoyed or played this game on Wii U, has a Switch, and ready for the demo this weekend.

Use this thread to discuss controls, early comparisons to the Wii U version, your hands on experience at any Switch event before launch, and which control methods you feel are best (pro controller/joycons detached/ handheld mode/joycon grip.

RIP to Inkstrike/Bubbler/Inkzooka/Killer Wail

Never played one second of Splatoon. So, gonna be my first time playing. Will probably go Pro Controller for this one, maybe split joycon. Not sure if I'll use the gyro controls

I guess a majority of the players from 1 will be in this, but once you get used to it, it will be crazy fun getting them kills (splats) on the opponent, and trying to get the main goal done with your team. This will only be turf mode, but ranked mode is something else.

I encourage manual cam control, even thou I read motion control was used by a majority of players.

Use the ink every bit to your advantage in the game.

I had a Wii U for a few months with Splatoon 1, that game is a damn classic, both single player and mp. This should be a must own for all Switch owners

Felt like this was the first time I ever played Splatoon :mjlol: I was never a user of motion controls, so it was tough. But I was mastering it and doing solid enough to have fun. But I need the real game, so I can switch to the manual cam control that I'm really used to. I'm gonna try again, because I want to get used to the dodge roll. Saw someone slick using it on me.

If anybody had trouble getting into the game, just try closing the game, and then opening it back up, I got in not long after, and everything was fairly smooth until the sever went off.

I'll also say that this demo does the game no justice. there's way more intensity than this to the game. I assume this is how the last global test fire for the Wii U went, but I missed that one.

The only problem with the first game was the intercontinental lag/latency issues. Having Japanese players snipe you from behind a wall or getting you perfectly with the inkzooka despite the fact that you moved is frustrating.
