"I order the food, you cook the food, and the customer gets the food. We do that for forty years, and then we die..."

That line had younger me like :damn: already :wow: :to:

See, stuff like this is what I mean :russ:

Squidward saying some grim, real shyt that perfectly fits his character :mjlol:

All the while, SpongeBob ain't even paying attention to the real shyt he just said

And they way they draw it, with his eyes rolling off the side of his face like that :russ:

And then he leaves, and you're left wondering if he even understood/comprehended what Squidward just said :russ: :dead:

Why early SpongeBob was so good was because:

They set up actual jokes, and payed attention to the comedic timing, delivery of the lines, and the artwork. A lot of care was put in to every part of the scene.

And they combined it with low key good character writing that fit the jokes so well.

There's a certain Magic that Stephen Hillenburg has, that the writers now don't have.

Don't even get me started on why Fairly Old Parents went down hill :snoop:

Came to post this even before I finished reading the entire thing.
It may seem cliche to think that once the main creator of ANYTHING popular leaves or is marginalized, the quality goes down, but the moment 'Burg died, SpongeBob slowly turned into a vehicle of bad jokes, annoying sounds and lackluster writing. Same thing for the King of the Hill Episodes not written by Judge. Boondocks had a whole season without Mcgruder and that's arguably THEE WORST block of episodes ever made and sadly, they might be the last ones ever made for such an otherwise stellar show.
The moment I saw them trying to shove Sponge into the LBGTQ community, claiming that he's a "Gay Icon" I knew Nickelodeon was full on cashing out rather than trying to keep the quality going, 'cause Hillenburg already laid out Spongebob's sexuality (Like as if he fukkING needed one, but still) as simply A-Sexual. He isn't gay for Patrick and he's kinder towards Sandy/Pearl because they're female. That's it.
I'm glad Flapjack ended before it could get corrupted like SpongeBob and other shows like Simpsons and Fairly Odd and such.
