If he does not pan out as a pg.
He is gonna have issues being a sg.
Simply because he will then be in a pool. where his height is not a general mismatch like it is at pg.
He could have the type of issues Shawn respert had in shot release at the next level.
Where respert's shot was exposed.
If ball gets to play at pg he can hide his mechanical issues.
Yet lonzo ball will have to change it like lebron had to change his shot form from being mechanically a replica of magic Johnson's shot form quite possibly as well.
Including changing his shooting hand from left to right.

At least we get to talk about actual basketball for this ball based segment.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
This will make him a pretty easy guard

Best case scenario for would be Boston, Phoenix or LA.

Phoenix because they have a lot of young players and will be the perfect place to push the pace with Jones & Chriss out there catching every lob.

LA/Boston because he can play on and off the ball a lot.

The issue is how does he get it off going to his right? They didn't really play PnR at UCLA, and that is a staple of the NBA game, he's gonna have to take that shot going to his right off a screen.
He'll be fine, he's going to be a great player... :manny:

Yeah, his shot is unorthodox but he has...
-great rotation
-quick release
-NBA+ range
-on the catch and shoot, he catches on the hop with rhythm and is good at locating his feet and line
-has arguably the best step back in the draft
-he shot 42% in the NCAA and shot well against closeouts
-he punished teams that went under on P&R, even it it wasn't a staple of UCLA's offense
-has been working on midrange since NCAA tournament and will continue working on it in the summer

Best fit IMO is Phoenix. Lonzo/Booker backcourt has potential to be nasty, them Chandler/Chriss/D. Jones alleys, he can push the tempo in traditional Phoenix-style, play on and off the ball with D. Book, they do need better shooters around him though.

Phoenix don't need him as much as the Knicks, they have Ulis. :mjcry:

Impressive segment and impressive player but...

It seems this essentially means if NBA defenders really are different than college, he's going to feel game to game pressure like he's never felt before.

He may turn into a one dimensional spot up shooter or a 3 and D guy.

I hope he does translate well into the NBA, though.

Because the ball travels from the left side of his head, His pull-up mechanics are literally broken, especially mid-range going to his right. If you watched him in college you'd know he literally never pulls up going right. He just refuses to take the shot because mechanically it's pretty much a guaranteed brick. If you watch Lonzo's "moving shots," they look a lot like his set shots. That is, he'll usually do a step back then set his feet. He rarely takes a "true" pull up going forward. NBA scouts will pick up on this and feast on him defensively. I like his game but it's a much bigger deal than y'all are making it out to be. He's not athletic enough to command the kind of sag from NBA defenders that will give him time to get that jank ass jumper going.
